The Open Data Institute have been researching data trusts in collaboration with the UK’s Office for AI. The oil and gas project analytics data trust develops these principles into an operational data trust. The data trust enables operators and its supply chain to securely pool data, such as schedules, risks, costs, quality and apply advanced analytics. By pooling data we have the opportunity to develop capabilities that predict risks, provide greater forecasting certainty, challenge bias and enable investors to improve their confidence in investing in North Sea projects. It has the potential to transform how projects are delivered. There is also an opportunity to replicate it within other sectors.
