Gary Goldberg is the Chief Data Officer at BP's integrated supply and trading business.
Gary is a champion for innovation in data and financial services. Recognised as a leader and expert in data strategy, standards and change. With his inspirational approach and willingness to challenge convention, he is regularly asked to speak at international events.
In 2018, Gary founded the European Banking and Regulator data forum to improve the dialogue between banks and regulators. The forum is now completing a pilot of a global, granular data standards to simplify regulatory reporting. His work on new approaches to data management and willingness to share insight with others has seen him named by DataIQ as one of the 100 most influential people in data-driven business in 2018 and 2019.
Having started his career on a trading desk in the City of London, he has gone on to lead business, technology and data change at Mizuho, Credit Suisse, BlueCrest, LCH.Clearnet amongst others. At Mizuho, Gary created the data capability and data organisation from the ground up.
