SPEAKER PROFILE

As Chief Data Officer, I am responsible for developing and implementing HMRC’s Data Strategy, encompassing wide-ranging institutional, people and culture change. Alongside our near £1bn transformation programme, I lead in putting data at the centre of decisionmaking. An economist by training, I have worked in areas of tax and macroeconomic policy, before leading large analysis teams in HMRC. Taking this analytical background to the frontline, I led a team of 2,000 operational staff delivering compliance operations before becoming HMRC’s first Director for Data.
